Getting doubts about my SaaS idea when talking to others - what are your opinions on Privacy and Data Security?

I'm trying to build an SaaS Product that supports data protection officers to do their job easier. However, when i'm talking to other peoples (people that are not working on data protection) about data protection and they are skeptical on data protection i get doubts about my idea because of their refusal of privacy. This leads me to thoughts like: "is it really worth to finish the project when no one sees a value in protect their data?", "would companies / data protection officers use such a product when they absolutely not care about privacy?"

So, what is your opinion on data protection / privacy? Is it becoming more and more important (my personal opinion) or will it become irrelevant?
And what are your tips for me to eliminate my doubts in these situations?

I'm not sure it matters what our opinion is. Who would make a decision on the purchase? And do the data protection people have influence over that? How easy is it to implement? how easy would it be to get budget approval? Will it require resources from other areas of the business to implement?

Hey @SnooZ, I’m my day job work on a SaaS product for Privacy officers—and, at least in the US, privacy is not going away and is only going to grow.

That said, not every company cares about privacy (or security for that matter). You’ve got to find the ones that do.

Also, even if folks don’t care about privacy, GDPR and CCPA are regulations that come with pretty hefty fines—enough to make businesses care.

Anyway, nows a good time to be in privacy. Best of luck!

Can you say more about the product you’re working on?
