Getting my hours cut was the best thing ever

So i launched Effycient.com back in 2020 after my hours got cut from my largest freelance client. I was hiried on in Feb. 2020 as a Digital Strategist for a local consulting agency. Then the pandemic hit in march and the consulting agency took a big hit. I needed additional income so naturally i decided to start an agency during the pandemic lol. (cuz that's what entrepreneurs do right?)

Now in 2021, the same thing happened with my largest client in January. With my client losing money, my hours have been cut agggaaiiinn. I originally told myself "Nick, you need to learn more from others first before launching your own thing again. Just be a freelancer."

Well that mindset lasted a month and I took on 5 additional clients as of March 2021. I also decided to start blogging on nickwilger.com and read a book every week to fuel the fire as one of my copywritng friends has told me. Now I am like "ok well i guess i probably need some help to manage all of this". Some clients are small projects like teaching a coding accelerator class for 1 hour each week to landing my first real "no/low-code" application project developing a project management/quote generating app for a manufacturing company (Bubble.io).

So I am launching Effycient again. With a brief facelift on the branding side, I am ready to get out there again. I've been talking with different people over the years and I have realized relying on just my digital marketing, web, and app development agency for income is probably not sustainable long term.

I built a employee experience app for the local consulting agency (on Adalo.com) and it has been sitting dormant. So i asked if i could just copy it and build something from it. I got permission so i have been building out a pretty slick coaching app I am thinking I'll turn into a SAAS product.

In 2018 I failed my first company launching a SAAS product. I was in college just trying to figure out entrepreneurship. Now I am back staring SAAS in the face and have cold feet about it.

Not sure why I woke up this morning and wrote this article but I have always appreciated the community on Indiehackers and hope to kindle some comments that may point me in the right direction.
