Getting Started with Webflow

For those of you who've created successful Webflow sites, how did you get started? What websites and videos did you use to learn Webflow? Which plan did you use?

I'm planning to create an interactive website, where the user will be able to create and edit projects. I'm also planning for this website to be supported on mobile. Is No-Code a viable option for this project?

    👋
I love Webflow, I remember using it for the first time a couple of years ago.

This is a good tutorial list by the makers of webflow: https://university.webflow.com/videos

Yeah you can create and edit posts using no-code tools like https://airtable.com/ to get user input for whatever you will be trying to grab from the user's side. Here's a great tutorial: https://vimeo.com/showcase/3513053

    Good luck!

Commenting so I can bookmark this resource, thanks!

Thank you! I'm planning to watch the webflow university videos before I get started. I've heard that webflow has a pretty massive learning curve haha. I checked out airtable and I think that's the tool I'll end up using. Thanks again!

+1 on webflow’s own university videos. Some of the best tutorials on the internet.

@twentyfourmillion Im a webflow fan as well. I found pixelgeek's tuts and rebuilds to be quite cool when I started (https://www.youtube.com/user/thepxlgk)

The platform is very well thought through and people like @flowbase sometime provide free templates that you can use (https://webflow.com/Flowbase)

Last nugget would be to look up udesly (https://www.udesly.com/) and memberstack (https://www.memberstack.io/)

    • Udesly can convert webflow stuff to wordpress, ghost and shopify themes so you can use their cms
    • Memberstack can collect payments and manage memberships for you

Built my personal blog on there: https://kofiokyere.com/ and working on a few other interesting things: https://quickquestions.me/ + https://memocovid.webflow.io/ + https://spaces-todo.webflow.io/

    Hope that helps

Thanks! This is a ton of help. I'll definitely be using these resources as I start. I'm glad that the indie hackers community is so supportive and helpful, to be honest. I'm a complete newbie and getting all this help from people around the world has been incredible. Your website looks great, by the way!

Webflow is definitely viable. If you want to have users create and edit projects you will need to integrate Memberstack and Zapier, but it's still possible:)

I created a 3 part (45 min) course to get started in Webflow by building a custom blog, you should be able to get the hang of things very quickly

Seth, I'm starting a no-code academy for kids in Kigali, we'll definitely use this as a resource :)
How long have you been using webflow? How long does it take someone to master it?

      1. 2

That is amazing! I think you can get a good understanding of Webflow in under a week. Even after just that 1 hour course I think you'll start to get it.

Feel free to reach out at [email protected] about your academy, would be interested in learning more.

Thanks for the advice! Kind of a dumb question, but do you know if integrating Memberstack and Zapier require the paid plan? Also, I'll be sure to check out your course once I'm done with the webflow university one.

      1. 1

Sounds good! You would need paid plans most likely, yes.

I started using webflow recently for my personal website and landing page for my book. So far it's easy and fast compared to if I want to code it deploy it myself. I use the CRM plan since I want to add blog at some point.

I'm still getting used to the no-code thing. It takes a bit of time to learn webflow UI and know how to use it.

I may be able to help you with basic things if you want. you can msg me on twitter

Thanks a ton! Your story is crazy, man. I wish you all the luck in the world on your journey, and I'm sure you'll succeed.

Unfortunately, I'm not on Twitter, but I did give you a follow from my (very very dead) account.

Wow Luca, the website looks amazing, the podyak blew me away. Where you a developer before? Impressive portfolio as well. I'd love to pick your brain, we're teaching kids in Kigali how to build websites without code.

Oh wow your websites look great! I can't believe webflow did all this. Did you use any custom code for your websites or is it just webflow and its tools?
