It's nice you listed some common places to find your target audience (FB groups, Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn).

In my Zero to Users research, I also focused on how often these channels work for founders. So taking the 10 channels you've listed, here are the mentions I found for each of them:

Niche Facebook groups - 28 mentions

Niche Slack communities - barely 2, probably because Slack groups don't have a mechanism for your post to get more exposure as it gets more popular (unlike with FB groups)

Twitter (tweeting about certain topics, or following certain accounts) - less than 10 mentions. It depends heavily on what you do on Twitter. For example, founders that went to Twitter search and searched for relevant keywords & contacted those people had better success than founders who just followed/tweeted to a small base of followers.

Reddit (subreddits related to topics) - 45 mentions

LinkedIn (certain designations that make them identifiable) - 35+, 80-90% of positive mentions were doing direct outreach and about 10-20% were about doing content marketing there

Instagram (follow certain accounts and hashtags that you can target) - have barely seen any mentions for B2B. These days I'm analyzing e-commerce companies and every 3rd one is mentioning Instagram as a good acq. channel source

YouTube (kind of content they watch and channels they follow) - 12 mentions

Google Search (search for specific "keywords" on Google) - there's a twist here. I've seen many founders mention search traffic working for them AFTER they've succeeded with a channel that indirectly brought them SEO benefits (like press).

App marketplaces (Shopify, Atlassian, Intercom, Slack, Salesforce, etc.) - DEF UNDERESTIMATED. Saw 78 mentions. These are huge, especially Shopify

Email outreach (use tools like BuiltWith for finding a targeting list) - 42 mentions. Def worth trying

Once again, thanks for your insightful post :)

I am a bit slow here... I am not sure how built with helps with leads generation. Could you please give an example of how you use it?

Thanks! I just needed some early adopters for my app. I tried the twitter thing a while ago and it got me one registered user.
