Getting traction for an Ethereum Smart Contract

Hi there 👋. Sean here. I am a software engineer living in San Francisco. I have been following Ethereum for awhile now and I think this is such a cool technology. I wanted to build a smart contract that lived on the blockchain so I set out and did just that. I think the only way to learn this stuff is to just do it. You have to sacrifice time and you have to have a passion for what you do.

With that being said I built a smart contract that allows people to bet ether on The Bachelor - Monday nights on ABC 8/7c if you want to get in on the action. https://bachelor.helloether.io. I've seeded the pot with 0.04 ether. You can bet on multiple contestants. Bets close the Feb 14.

How did I get this idea you ask? Well, my girlfriend watches the bachelor and therefore I watch the bachelor. After an episode full of drama idea popped into my head. I learned the quirks of Solidity, wrote tests, built the web ui, set up the domain, and last night deployed to the Main Net.
