Getting your first 1k github stars and promoting an open-source project

Thought this was a solid writeup on how open-source enthusiasts like myself can promote their projects.

    Until the word is out, your public repository on GitHub is essentially private through obscurity.
    I should probably tattoo this part.

    Why not Product Hunt? Seems like the best possible place to launch an open source tool.

    Building in public is so powerful across the board, but yeah I can see how it could be particularly important for open-source founders.
