Looking Glass has created "Blocks" which are 3D GIF-like files that you can see even if you don't have a holographic display.
Kinda cool. Can they really replace GIFs though? Time will tell.
Meh, pointless. GIFs work just fine. As they say, if it ain't broke... don't pretend it's a hologram.
