Giving your team feedback

I've been looking for a solution to lower the barrier to give someone feedback (20ish person SaaS). Most feedback today is done by team leaders or co-founders in zoom calls or the monthly 1:1s and is mostly undocumented.

I've tried products like officevibe, cultureAmp and Intuo but most of these platforms are doing way more than I need, are expensive and clunky.

What I would like to have in a simple tool:

  • pick a team member from the team
  • simple editor to write notes
  • specify if it's a praise or feedback
  • praise is public (anyone can see), feedback is private

It would be useful to pull in the team listing from slack and provide some shortcuts (like a notification) but that's all super optional at this point.

Does anyone know of a product like that? And if I were to build it myself would you use it?

I'm working on workhero.us (early beta) which does at least part of what you are looking for - I'm not sure if you have considered rewards as part of the praise. Team entry is currently manual, but I'm planning to do some integrations to make it easier to adopt.

@tonyh i think there is a market for this. Will keep following your progress

We have not considered rewards. Could work.

I see the most benefit in integrating with Slack. That way I don't have to do user management/team management because the company structure is already defined in those groups.

Also would be cool to have slack phrases like 'kudos to @jack for onboarding this news customer' be automatically converted to a compliment/praise.

15Five does something similar. Unsure of their pricing model.

Yes. But here are the problems I have with 15Five (in order of importance)

      • no way to try the product without buying/scheduling a call.
      • the product does way more than I need (hence the price). Found a product video on YT (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QWgX_PFktw). It looks like a rocketship
      • 14$/month for 20 person team -> 280$

I understand and their target market is probably different. Is this the same feedback that your prospects are giving you that they need a stripped down version of 15Five?

Someone on reddit advised me to try leapsome. Anyone tried that? ( I can't request a trial)
