Goal: get first paying user (day 32)

Yesterday:

  • Improve how I'm measuring my website's success. I set up Amplitude (the right way) to know how many users I'm loosing from the landing page to the app's dashboard: www.palabra.io
  • Decided my goal is to improve my metric of how many users sign up after clicking the 'get started' button on the landing page. Right now almost everyone gets to the signup form but doesn't complete it. I need to make it easier for them to sign up. Attaching an image of my metrics right now.

Today:

  • Will work on the signup flow.

I clicked on the sign-up to take a look at your page. In case you changed it since your post, I see three input boxes: email, password and password confirmation.
Just a few suggestions, take or leave, I'm no expert:

    1. How about experimenting with having no password for the initial sign-up, and sending a welcome email with a link to setting up the account/password? That's basically the start of building an email list of potential interest, and you can keep nudging them for a while.
    2. Is there a freebie you can give as additional inducement to signup e.g. they get their account and a free download of a PDF with general tips on whatever your customers are likely to be interested in. I must admit I'm a sucker for this one.

Hey, yeah. I changed that yesterday. You can now signup with Google which will take you directly to the dashboard. I will make further changes to this in the future, but I think that'll be at least an improvement.
If that doesn't work the no password alternative sounds good too.
