Going Solo - A Blueprint for Going out on Your Own as a Software Developer
A new book and video package is out from Rob Conery of Big Machine about Going Solo. I became aware of his work earlier from the "This Developer's Life" podcast and some of his programming videos on TekPub. (His videos and the TDL podcast are unique in the tech world for having high production quality.) I have only skimmed some of the content; it seems to cover practical concerns - such as legal and financial - a developer needs to address (and may have never thought of). Maybe I'm a sucker for buying it, but as a developer who is of late seriously considering a side business, I'm hoping the book will help me out. I'm posting this to IH because the topic seems tailor-made for us in the IH audience.
Would be interested in hearing some reviews on this. I'm fine with buying products like this, but want to make sure there's real value there.
