As an entrepreneur, I constantly face new high-stakes decisions, and each one has numerous possibilities to choose from. But delaying a decision translates directly to real loss, so dragging out deliberation makes me anxious. And as a solopreneur in particular, I have to handle every decision on my own. Product, marketing, pricing, design, ops, and a dozen smaller decisions in between, every single day.
For typical companies, each of these calls has a team of specialists narrowing the options before the CEO even sees them. As a solopreneur, you're the specialist for all of them at once, under the worst constraints. With no team to validate and no time to deeply research every decision, the sheer volume of decisions gets overwhelming, and making every call alone on gut builds steady anxiety.
Whenever I make these decisions alone, "what would others have chosen?" crosses my mind. You might think of looking up what others have decided on founder communities.
But as anyone who's tried knows, replies are either nonexistent or slow, and digging through long threads of cluttered opinions builds up too much time and fatigue. For every single decision, I'd have to keep checking back since replies trickle in. Wading through irrelevant opinions to find what I need, plus parsing long threads end to end, doesn't scale.
So I started thinking about a more immediate way to borrow collective wisdom for daily decisions, and ended up building TRIM, a decision-closure tool.
The core idea is simple. Someone out there has almost certainly walked through this same decision, all the way to the call. You post your decision, founders vote on your options, and you get a fast but validated verdict instead of carrying every call alone. If you don't even know what to choose from, the community suggests options that get narrowed into a Top 3 shortlist. Only that shortlist surfaces to the poster, so you skip the research and just pick from a finite, crowd-vetted list.
If my struggles as a solopreneur resonate with you, I think this could work well as a tool where we help each other efficiently.
