Going to build a simple project manager for Indie hackers, what features should it have?
After researching for weeks and talking with Indiehackers and other forums I finally decided to build a project management saas platform. So many competitors, yet still I want to build something for myself. (so I'm certain it will have atleast one user ;)
It will be simple and easy to use and focus on helping people that work on multiple simultaneous projects. Many of us have a job a then side projects and home-related tasks; I will bring all these under an easy to use platform.
I want to ask you, what features should it have? I will be working on the most popular requested features and try to focus design into keeping things simple and saving people's time. Should have a demo within 2 weeks.

You forgot another 100 project management tools! Maybe you are right, and we should instead do a presentation tool? No much competition on that market, or is there?
We can differentiate from other presentation tools building something simple/niche. It does seem we would have less competition. Thank you!
As a Indie Hacker I have tried many tools for project management and ended up with Gitlab + Google task. I always think "this tool could save me some time", but it's never the case.
I think a project management tool is great if you have someone to take care of it. When you are solo, a spreadsheet, a to-do list or pen & paper is the best.
I love the ideas like Air Table or all the plug-ins who change Gmail into a PM tool. Because it's based on something you already know. The learning curve is way softer.
Also, I worked for a company who tried to make a PM tool "that would change the market" and it failed miserably. So be careful, because it's way harder than you think (and again, I'm not sure you have a niche here)
Thank you for the feedback Thomas, I mostly agree with them. I do feel like the key is to make something niche and simple. So many competitors doing extremely advanced and feature-rich products, niche is key.
Now looking at frameworks to build it, so far I like Nodejs / Hapi.js, which should make building for multi-tenant very and scalable.
