Going to build a startup in 80 days, from scratch, in public

Happy new year everyone!!

My co-founder and I are starting the year with a fun experiment/challenge. The plan is to build a startup from scratch, live, in 80 days, while documenting and sharing every step we take, every day.

We've been running a profitable bootstrapped startup (SaaS) for many years now, and from time to time we've been toying with the idea of sharing some blog posts about how we managed to design a product, get customers, handle the technical side of things, do sales, financials, etc etc.

In the end we never really got around to writing anything (to be honest, we were more interested in writing code). Besides, posts about why something worked looking back also don't really tell the complete picture, and leaving out all the nitty gritty details makes the practical advice a lot less actionable.

So that got us thinking, why not take this idea to the extreme and build a complete new startup live? It felt like a novel fun thing to do, and if it succeeds it would hopefully also be useful for others (though failure would result in plenty lessons too ;). We're going to start with 0 revenue, 0 followers (okay, I have 3 followers right now) and 0 code.
