Hey there, I've finished my new project regarding REST API Testing https://api-testing.net . I've used Golang on backend side, since it consumes a little memory and cpu time.
That was very important because if the server executed a plenty of tests from a variety of other web-apps, it would be pretty costly in terms of a server usage.
True, I could use Ruby on Rails since the service is pretty new and performance is not a problem at the moment, but anyway I decide to pick Go because that's the my favorite language. And if one day it scales enough, Go will be my saver :)
Also feel free to give me any feedback, I'd really appreciate it. If you are willing to be a beta tester of even early adopter that would be awesome :)
Thank you guys!
Go is great!
At work we're using Go backend with angular frontend for a large hospital system. It's definitely a viable choice - and scaling it is a breeze. (We have +100million daily transactions).
I've also chosen Go to build the backend of my side project (workwithgo.com)
If you need any help, feel free to ping me ;-)
Thank you for your reply :)
I have not heard for your side project until now, I had a look at it and can say it's an amazing job, congrats :)
I see you have remote checkbox, but do you plan to add freelance checkbox or something like that?
I'll definitely bookmark this.
Thanks for the feedback!
Having a freelance checkbox is a great idea, I'm still working on the filters. (Country, City, extra tags,..) and freelance seems like a useful one to have as well. :-)
Definitely it is. You have my full support!
If you need any help, feel free to ask :)
Thanks, that's very kind! :)
agree, love go aswell and use it for my side project.
unfortunately I'm stuck with PHP at work atm, which is a huge pain
I know, it sucks if you do something you don't like that much. What is your experience with Go?
mostly REST API's, a CLI for GitLab, and an internal libary to handle a custom file format
