Hi everyone 👋.
The Scenario?
There are 3 stakeholders:
- Company RazorPay: wants to hire a Product Manager
- Candidate Aman: wants to become a Product Manager
- My Company (EasyHire.com): responsible for matchmaking (Aman becomes a product manager at RazorPay)
How?
- Candidates like Aman (interested in a Product Manager role) make an account on EasyHire.com
- EasyHire.com has a pool of part-time mock-interviewers with enough experience in the Product domain.
- Aman goes through 3 mock-interviews for free where he is tested on different core competencies.
- Post the 3 mock-interviews, EasyHire is able to objectively weigh the core competencies of Aman and the other candidates interested in a Product Manager role.
- EasyHire refers the top 5 candidates to RazorPay. Candidates are chosen such that 3 out of the 5 candidates will definitely cross RazorPay's threshold.
- RazorPay begins the interview process for these 5 candidates and offers a job to Aman.
- RazorPay pays Aman's one month salary to EasyHire for the service.
- EasyHire pays the mock-interviewers from RazorPay's
The hosts of the Tropical MBA podcast -- Dan Andrews & Ian Schoen -- had initially intended to take a similar approach to yours with their Dynamite Jobs startup (www.dynamitejobs.com). However, they found that hiring companies didn't value that offering.
If memory serves, they specifically said that hiring companies didn't value the time savings that much, and that the companies wanted to evaluate the candidates themselves and not outsource that function.
They discuss their experience in this episode:

You've kinda' described toptal.com. So it's clearly a good idea, but I think you need a lot of $$$ to pull this off
