Google drives me nuts. How do you find right SaaS tools?
I gave up on using Google to find SaaS products. It is all Ads and clever engineered landing pages - we all know how this works. Bigger marketing budget always wins .
Fellow hackers, what do you use to find your SaaS tools? What is your process? Product registries of sort?

ProductHunt can be good starting point.
PH seems to be a common theme but I noticed it's more for techies to find "shiny things" vs research-based product selection... what do you think?
Product Hunt is a good source of tools. But at the end you have to try them out. No option. I'm building my own list!

The https://creativerly.com/ newsletter sends me a steady stream of new and interesting SaaS tools that are worth looking at, normally I think he sends one email every Sunday :)
Chris, what do you do when you need to find a specific tool then? Do you go thru your bookmarks or search the newsletter?
Funnily enough I'd probably search for 'best tool for x' on youtube nowadays and watch some reviews. But honestly, I have all the tools I need and it's been years since I added anything new to the list other than Midjourney and ChatGPT. I try other stuff out most months, but most of my 'needs' are already met.

Oh yeah. My problem with Product Hunt is that it gives me zero info beyond marketing pitch and reviews. I hardly trust these reviews as they are sourced thru marketing campaigns.
It's hard. It's either paid marketing or influencers shilling affiliate programs. If you find a credible way to evaluate things, then I'm all ears.
Normally I kinda like going down the rabbit hole of discovery with new software. However, now that I'm starting a company, I don't have time or money to splurge on this endeavor.
Yeah, exactly my point... when you simply need to get the job done the discovery process mind-numbingly frustrating.
