Google is deprecating thousands of extensions which means tons of juicy product opportunities

Google just stopped accepting new submissions for "Manifest V2" Chrome extensions in June. In January 2023, Google will be deprecating all these extensions, which means now is a good time to look for product opportunities. But how?

@TimLeland pointed out that you can find popular extensions that haven't been updated in years and copy or improve them. You can search on the Chrome store for these extensions or I made a giant CSV of all Chrome extensions here that lets you sort and filter by date and reviews.

Often, extensions won't need any real changes to work with MV3, which might mean an easy way to build a replacement. You can see the differences between Manifest V2 and Manifest V3 here.

I personally think browser extensions are a great way to start indie hacking and I wrote about why here. I even made the ExtensionPay service which lets developers take payments in their extensions with no hassle and it's helped make devs over $50k and growing.

Hi Glen, just wondering when the last time you updated this? Also, if I buy now then few months from now you re-update, will I have to purchase again?

It was last updated in March 2022. If you purchase this one I'm happy to give you the updated one for free :)
