Lots of chatter around how Google's new "helpful content update" is going to kill AI writing tools.
The real target of the new update is low quality content. This is not necessarily synonymous with AI generated writing, but there's certainly an overlap.
As long as these tools are used responsibly to create high quality content, there's no reason to think these tools are dead in the water.
Hopefully, what is dead is the use case where people are quickly publishing 100s of low quality blogs about random topics while grasping at straws for more traffic.
I wrote a bit more about this here: https://byautomata.io/2022/08/24/google-helpful-content-update/
