Got a backlink from a major publication. How do I make the most out of it?

Hey everyone,

Search Engine Journal recently mentioned my tool in their top free SEO tools list.

This obviously was a massive, positive bump in my search rankings.

But I was wondering: besides that, how can I make the most out of this new backlink?

So far, I have:

• Reached out to the author to thank him for including me. He's responded back and offered to write a guest post on my site. I've accepted but not reply since then (this was yesterday though).
• Used it as a proof of authority when asking other sites for backlinks:
