Got a customer, can I quit my job?

Obviously, I'm not serious, I'm still a student about to finish my university days.

Today I woke up and saw that I got my first paying customer for Writtan and got so excited I even skipped class.

I guess the reason for this post is to hear about your first customer and how you felt, building an app or anything for 6 months is so exciting but at the same time it's also stressful as doubt sets in and you wonder if anyone would want to use my product...

How did you motivate yourself to keep on going?

Congratulations for landing your first paying customer!

You'd be surprised how many indie hackers can't even make that happen.

How did you motivate yourself to keep on going?

Easy. First, reward yourself for reaching this milestone. Go treat yourself to a nice restaurant meal or go spend time with your loved ones. You've definitely earned it.

Second, you should always keep the big picture in mind. What's your end game? What is the vision that you have for your life? What are all the things that you can accomplish if you have a successful business under your belt? What are the things that you have always wanted to do in life, but can't, because of a lack of finances and/or freedom?

Once you have a clear idea of where you're trying to head to, the rest falls into place quite naturally.

You might burn out in the short term, but in the long term you will always find it in yourself to regain that lost motivation and reignite that fire in your belly.

Because having a very compelling "why" in your mind is a superpower of sorts that has, throughout history, allowed human beings to transcend all physical and mental limitations and achieve greater, unprecedented heights.

If you're doing it for all the right reasons, you will never allow yourself to give up, until the day you die.

I wish you the best in your endeavors!
