Got a happy launch on Hacker News, now on Product Hunt
Hi all,
My team of two is doing smart home security with total data privacy.
We started development in Jan, was running beta during Feb and Mar and went live in App Store last week.
Quick Recap: Security camera is a big but crowded market. We are good at creating AI event detection, but how we differentiate? We explored the idea by lurking Hacker News and found that people are frustrated with security cameras requiring cloud connection. So we bet on privacy issue, did a demo which was well received in HN.

- 78 survey answers in the first time
- Unclear #installs because we don’t track
- A few very enthusiastic users who constantly give us feedback for beta program.
We found that most fanatical users come to us for either AI features or privacy-first approach, so the ‘smart factor’ seems to be attractive too.
