Got my 1st Paying Customer before even Launching

I wanted to make sure there is interest in the tool am Building. And so, I decided to get pre-release orders for my upcoming tool (Two Minute Reports- https://www.gox.ai/two-minute-reports/). I spent lot of time in wording the sales page that will connect closely with my target audience. The next thing left was to setup payments, and have heard great things about Gumroad, so got their payments button onto my sales page.

After that within a few days, someone paid $50 for a lifetime access to Two Minute Reports once it is launched. This is a DAMN great bargain for anyone and the value realised is easily 1000x in the long run. I knowingly decided to lose money on first few pre-launch customers.

I think this is fine, because 0$ during the pre-launch is better than a single 50$. This also validates the pain that I am trying to solve, so much so that people are ready to wait for 1 month to get their product.
