Got my first imitator!

Today I got my first imiator, which I think is cause for celebration. I've seen many threads like this here on Indie Hackers, and finally I can have mine.

Today I saw this ad:

Looks familiar? This is my landing page:

The tagline was originally devised for Syften by master marketer @olly.

Didn't get it. How getting an imitator is cause of celebration ? Sorry But I am loosing the context here.

"Imitation is the best form of flattery" - usually when somebody copies your work what that means is that you are building something great, so valuable that someone else is trying to copy it.

Obviously it is upsetting to see people trying to 'steal' your work like that. However, what can you do about it? The Stoic approach is to reframe the situation: from victim to victor! From my work is being copied to my work is being praised. And with that mindset, continue to work, as you know copycats won't have the same insights or passion as you do, you will always win in the end as long as you remain focused and shipping. They can 'steal' your product, but don't let them steal your focus!

It means I must be doing something right, right?

I just checked out your project for the first time. Can confirm that it is actually really cool. I don't quite have a use for it yet, but it is definitely something that I've bookmarked and I'll be giving it a try when the time comes (hopefully soon!). Keep up the good work :)

Oh, cool. Thank you. If you have no need for the tool yet you can check out the marketing email course I put together: https://syften.com/course - I've collected some examples of online marketing there. I hope you'll enjoy it!
