Got my first paying customer today
First paying customer today. $19.99, no discount code, no push from me, just someone who ran their landing page through Dorven and decided it was worth paying for.
Doesn't sound like much against bigger revenue numbers floating around here, but it's the first time someone has voted with money instead of a comment or an upvote. Everything before this was people looking. This is someone deciding it solved a real problem.
Most AI-coded products don't fail because the idea was bad, they fail on things nobody checked before shipping. That's the gap I'm trying to close, one review at a time.
For those who've hit their first paying customer, what changed for you after that?
Something worth naming directly since it's come up more than once: "can't AI coding tools already do this?"
Fair question, and the honest answer is they can, if you know to ask well. But here's the part I think gets missed: the same tools generating these apps are a big part of why so many of them share the exact same blind spots. Missing states, broken loading, the same patterns showing up everywhere. That's not a knock on the tools, it's just what happens when speed is the whole point and checking isn't built into the process.
The gap isn't capability, it's consistency. A model catches what you think to ask about. A structured review doesn't need you to know what's missing first.
