Yesterday, I wrote a quick article about the idea I had. At the end of the article, I left a Stripe payment link to purchase a lifetime deal for the product.
This morning, I woke up to a very nice surprise. I have my first paying customer.
Now, it's time to deliver.
Wow! That was quick.
I've read about this technique to validate an idea (similar to "just create a landing page with a payment link and only start building after some people have paid") but never had the guts to try it myself.
What's your strategy behind it? After how many lifetime subs do you consider the idea is validated?
I have 2 customers now, and a lot of positive comments.
So at this point, I consider the idea valid. I'm also building the product already.
Nice! I wish you success and a fun journey. Keep us posted!
I think this is what folks in the no-code low-code are talking about. There are tremendous value opportunities; we are far from maturity adoption in this game.
Congrats on the client!
Thank you very much!
Just now read your article. And about no code and understanding things are desires of few techies while doing testing. Congrats for your first customer!
Thank you very much
I heard this a lot but never thought it would work. Is this real?
Yes
A lifetime deal offer is also a great idea to push along with the email subscription on a landing page. Thanks for sharing this! Good luck.
Yes, but lifetime deal is worth it for the service provider?
Of course, it is. Too bad I didn't have a landing page :)
Says payment link is now deactivated. Might want to remove that link.
Thank you for the good point. I'll remove the link.
To give you more context. I deactivated the link because I filled all the pre-bid spots. And also, the beta release is coming up in a few days.
Are you interested?
Update: The BETA is out 🚀
Interesting parties, let me know :)
Very happy for you, hope i can find a way to workout my business too )
I hope so too
good! I'm happy for you man!
Thank you
I heard this a lot but never thought it will work. Anyway I am glad it did for you!
I'd never believe it as well. But figured I'd give it a go.
Congrats, Bernard. This is just awesome! I have to admit, getting initial customers is freaking hard. Thanks for sharing. One question; do you have lots of followers on Medium? Or how did you market this blog post of yours?
Congrats!
Nice! And congrats!
Thanks!
Yo Burnard! Nice to hear that. That's pretty good way to validate idea. Congrats and best of luck for your next journey....
Thank you very much
Congrats.
Do you have a timeline in your mind to deliver it.
When ChatGPT becomes a paid product, will it affect your product?
Actually, I'm using the GPT model (which ispad). Not the Chat GPT directly.
Congratulations! You mentioned you didn't write a single line of code, but in the dev.to blog it's mentioned that you built a github bot and checking the screenshot posted, it seems the github bot integrates which ChatGPT and produces the pull request's description. Did you not had to write a single line of code to achieve this? Or you manually fed the code and it's lines to GPT which returned the pull request description that's visible on the screenshot? Sorry for the descriptive question and congrats once again!
Yeah right!
In the post, there is a screenshot that I created by modifying the HTML in the actual GitHub pull request.
Just note that the comment in the screenshot is the actual result from the GPT model. So I'm not trying to deceive anyone.
good stuff mate, not doubting your intention at all, just a curious question. All the best and keep us posted on the journey!
dop good stuff
congrats , i recently launched a gpt 3 app bizideas
Awesome!
That’s pretty awesome. Both the idea and the super quick purchase.
What I find cool about it is that ChatGPT can not only describe the code clearly but also catch potential bugs and small mistakes in some code snippets. Would love to see where this is going :)
Yes. I'm thinking about bug catching as well. I'll be posting status updates.
This is exactly the way to do it. Congrats
Thank you!
Hey, this sounds great we have a software factory so this could be helpful.
Just sent you pre-payment. David from Ultrix.
Thank you very much!
Would you like to receive updates about the progress?
Would absolutely like to receive updates. Thanks! my email is [email protected]
Congrats on the customer! 🥳
People in the educational side of my network have been asking about ChatGPT for educational code reviews. Happy to see someone tackling the problem!
Happy to hear it's a problem that needs solving!
