Got our first client. Now we're at $539 MRR ๐Ÿฅณ

Hey indie hackers!

We're thrilled to announce that we got our first client for my agency Instantly Design

This happened after 2 months of hard work and posting content on X and Indie Hackers, I believe that's how the client found us

We still got a long way to go, our main goal is to scale Instantly Design to $10K MRR by the end of 2024 and I believe we can do this easily ๐Ÿ’ช

Proud of you Hamza. I got the same feeling 2 months ago when I got my first client in my product design agency.

Since then I didn't have to look back.

  6. 2

    Congratulations Hamza!

    Hey Hamza, congrats.
So since your plan is $539/month, I'm hoping you get more than 1 client.

Are you a team or solo and are you looking for a co-founder/partner or have any plans?

    1. 1

Currently I'm the designer and founder (no team) but I'm planning to hire in the future

Congrats Hamza ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ, you earn it.

I'm in a similar boat, building (https://www.indiehackers.com/product/rapidrails-agency) my Dev/Design RapidRails agency, it offers a custom UI components for Ruby on Rails applications. I'm working on a landing page to launch soon.

The idea spawn from my product RapidRails UI components https://rapidrails.cc

Is it your first client? Which one is more effective X or IH for client accusations?

    1. 1

      X is way more effective!

Interesting this reminds me of something similar a freelancer by the name of designjoy is doing. similar business model! Wish you guys the best of luck

    1. 1

Yeah, I heard of him. Thank you!

  12. 2

So they just found you through content distribution and not networking with people in dms?

    1. 1

Yeah, I don't do cold emails or dms. Just content

      1. 1

Nice, i struggled to get an initial following by just posting content to no one on Twitter, had to connect with people to support my posts

        1. 1

Yep, Twitter is way diffrent than IH. It take a lot of time to just get 10 likes on a post

  13. 1

interesting niche you chose. I hope it works out!

  14. 1

    Congrats! Good luck

I say this with the best intentions.

    You're too cheap.

If I were looking for a talented designer to work with, I'd be wondering why you're this cheap. And whether it's an indicator of the quality of your work. I'm sure it isn't, but that's the logic I'd go through.

    Don't undersell yourself.

    1. 1

Yes I agree with you, I'm definitely underselling my self, but at the same time I wanted to start low so I can make clients feel stupid for no working with us and that would help be get a lot of exposure and more clients. And the more exposure we get the more our pricing gets higher

    Congratulations!! Exciting times.

I was thinking about doing a similar service, but in machine learning consulting.

I am curious, how do you plan to deal with cases when your client gives you way more work to do thatโ€™d be worth more than your monthly charge? In other words, how do you rate-limit your clients and how do you communicate this?
