Got Rejected 5 Times but Finally Made It Through!

On Thursday I finally was able to release my new App to the Apple App Store. I've released apps before but this one was way harder to get through, as it included Apple's subscriptions functionality.

Implementing the subscription logic itself was manageable. The part I struggled with was the legal stuff. In order to have subscriptions in your app, you need to have proper Terms of Service as well as a Privacy Policy in every language your app supports.

Furthermore, it needs to be linked in the App before subscribing. Quite a hassle. I got my app rejected 5 times. I felt so stupid. It wasn't really motivating to see the "Rejected" alert in the Apple interface every time I thought I could release it. Each time I needed at least a day to get some motivation back to fix the issues an Apple reviewer mentioned.

Anyways, I've finally made it and it feels great having an app with payment in the App store. My only goal now is to get ONE customer I don't know. This would make my day.

Working on marketing right now.

This post is not meant to be a promotion of the App, more to get this off my chest. However, if you are interested you can check it out here.

Congrats, great that it finally got through! :)
Out of curiosity, what did you use to create your Terms of Service and Privacy Policy?

I was in luck. A Friend of mine who already has some successful apps in the App Store allowed me to use his as a basis to adapt. He paid for this back when he needed it.
This helped a lot but still wasn't a fun task for me at least. 🤷‍♀️

Congratulations @NaoLimao. Great to see hard work paying off!

Apple's approval process can be a real b*tch sometimes. But hey, it's all for the cause, right? 💪🏻

Feels good to get the green light!

My app was rejected (free app to teach kids how to wash their hands) but in this Corona age they view "washing hands" as a "medical service". I'd rather have 5 technical rejections than having to stop at the door because the bouncer thinks you're doing the club harm ;)

I don't know if you blog, but this would make a very interesting Medium post that helps a lot of people to save time and get you some views (or maybe readers' income if you're a Medium Partner).

Anyway, take care and keep going!

Good on you @NaoLimao. Don't give up next time, every fix gets you closer anyway.

Looks great, and is an amazing idea. Good luck!
