Got tired of filling out PDFs, so I built a tool to turn them into forms

The title👆 says it all! Curious to hear any feedback or if any folks on here would find it useful!

Here's a demo video: https://www.loom.com/share/02f7b5cec8104110a95dad8640aae3b4

I learned a ton about building with PDFs in the process, so if anyone wants to chat about PDF + workflow tools give me a shout as well -- would love to connect!

Looks great! This is a super interesting problem to solve. Every business needs workflow automation. And I can't believe people are still using sharepoint in 2022 hahaha

    1. 1

I was surprised to learn how popular Sharepoint is. Seems like it is often a requirement in certain regulated industries

Very interesting I'm working on something similar for a non-English speaking market with lots of potential. I will definitely borrow a few concepts from your approach.

It looks like there's no PDF support in the live version of your app now am I right?

Interesting demo. Are you using any Sharepoint features to build the pdf or is it just for the workflow part and can be replaced?

    1. 1

It can be replaced! Sharepoint is just an example requirements we got from a few design partners. Anything you're looking for? Happy to build it out!

Thanks. Nothing at the moment. Will keep in mind

Wow that's awesome! I know PDFs are pretty common in many industries and I hate filling them out, but if it's in the form of a form (no pun intended) then it makes it much easier psychologically, even though the info is all the same.

How will you deal with important info in the PDF, is there a way to extract that too? Like in the tax form example, there might be a lot of info telling you what to fill into a particular field.

Thanks, Satvik!! I totally agree re: form of a form lol!

To answer your question: You can configure questions as you like, so if you wanted to add any hints you can add that into the original question you are asking before we map that into a PDF. Lmk if it would be helpful to jump on a call to explain more! :)

Sure, I'd be down to call, you can email me at [email protected]

          Amazing! I'll reach out :)
