Hi,
I'm a parent of a 9-year-old and got reaaally tired of the daily nagging loop — chores, homework, phone at dinner etc etc.
One day I just dared him instead of asking. He actually did it. Then he dared me back. It kind of became a weekly thing in our house and the nagging mostly stopped.
So now I'm building an app around that idea. It's called FamDare — family members dare each other to weekly habits and challenges, with real stakes. Anyone can challenge anyone, including kids challenging parents.
Working on MVP currently. But you can visit a landing page so far to learn more on how it will work: https://famdare.netlify.app. Basically I'm at the stage of figuring out if this is worth building properly.
If you have a minute, I'd appreciate:
Does the concept make sense from the landing page?
Would you actually use something like this?
Any other comments/constructive feedback are welcome!
Happy to return the favour on anyone else's project.
Hi Chillacker,
I recently came across Famdare and took a few minutes to look through the product — really interesting what you’re building.
I’m currently building Defectra, a startup-focused testing service that helps founders catch product bugs before users run into them.
We run quick real-world tests on key flows, then deliver a clear bug report within 48 hours.
If it’s helpful, I’d be happy to run a small free test on one core flow of Famdare and share the findings with you.
Either way, wishing you the best as you keep building.
