Great Business Idea, MVP +1 is done. Customer acquisition?

Hi there,
I had that really great idea to build a product in the short term rental space (no Airbnb clone ;) ). To be more specific: The product is only useful for municipalities / cities etc.
So my potential client base is in the public sector. I know that they really need that product and I don't have competitors.

The problem is that I don't know how to approach them and sell anything. How would you do it?

For now I spent thousands into the development of that thing and can't find a single customer that is replying to my emails.

How do you know they need your product if you have not spoken to them?

Phone them. Write a letter. Network. Find a friend of a friend who knows someone in the industry. Get introduced. Attend conferences/events. Engage with someone who will know how to approach them.

    Good luck

Umm... this is not good. You built a solution looking for a problem. Not the end of the world, but there is no way you should be at MVP without having some customer validation. Even if this is met by offering it free, you should have at least 3 to 5 customers willing to help you validate it in exchange for using it.

That being said, perhaps you should revisit your problem statement as see how can you get the solution into the hands of those you identify with that problem.
