To give you some context, I'm a solopreneur building Famewall
It is a tool which makes it easy for businesses to collect testimonials & display social proof in multiple ways
As you can see in the graph, the product was active since July 2022 but it was on standby mode as I was working on an email SaaS
(I successfully managed to sell the email SaaS)

So I've been actively working on Famewall since Sep 2022 for almost 11 months now
This also happened to be the first SaaS product I started working on after quitting my job last year in June 2022
Coming from a software background, I was totally new to marketing.
The surprising thing is most of the growth has been happening only in the last few months
I still have a long way to grow but the main reason I wrote this is that it takes time to figure things out
And I came so close to quitting during the initial months as it seemed so hard to pull things off as a solopreneur
There's copywriting, social media marketing, SEO, building the product, and cold outreach. It felt that time was never enough.
I was pretty mediocre at it back then. Even now I feel I'm mediocre, haha 😅
But still, it's way better than it used to be last year
Famewall is already profitable & self-sustaining for me so now I'm at a point where I'm growing it comfortably by staying small
I'll keep giving my best to existing customers & I'm actually grateful to have amazing entrepreneurs & creators as my customers with whom I get to interact frequently
If there's one thing that I've learned from the first year of being an entrepreneur, it's that things are going to take time much longer than you expect so it's always a good idea to be prepared
Be it financially by saving up runway or emotionally by being stoic during the tough times
Can you please share your marketing strategy?
It currently revolves around writing content on social media, blog articles for SEO, and occasionally doing cold outreach
How, where do you write on social media?
Good luck with growing your startup brand
Thanks :)
WOOIIII Congrats!!!
Thanks!
Very clean UI!
Thank you Bill
Very cool, and that’s an amazing looking graph already, onwards and upwards! Congrats Goutham!! 🚀
Thank you Navin!
Hey Goutham, than you a lot for the advice, we can see it comes from personal experience. I'm about to start my own journey, and real advice like this helps me understand the process I'm about to go through. Best of luck my friend!
Good luck to you mate :)
That's great to know. :)
Living this right now :D
What platforms were you on to get your first set of customers?
Haha I know how it feels, Joseph
I'm currently active on Twitter & Linkedin. These were the platforms I found my first few customers
Oh perfect, I just made a Twitter today. I added you on both.
Also, I know Unicorn Platform when I see it 😉. Love how quick it is to setup.
Best of luck! It takes a lot of effort, but fortunately every new paying customer feels like heaven.
Haha it sure does :)
Awesome story man! How did you first begin to market your product and how did you see that there was a need for it?
I actually first started building in public and got a few signups from there. When I landed my first paying customer in 30 days, I knew there was potential
Congratulations🎉
This is an inspirational growth story!
Keep hacking🚀💻
All the best👍
Thanks a lot, mate :)
Really cool product and UI. How did you reach out to your initial set of customers? Any strategies for other micro-SaaS indie hackers?
Yesss patience it's something every entrepreneur needs to master. Keep the good work! SEO takes time but once it kicks in take advantage of the momentum. Congrats!
It seems testimonial collection is a very popular niche in the IH space. Nicely done on your growth!
Congratulations on your success Goutham,
Keep in mind that you're never mediocre - you're a superstar :)
I fully agree with you that things take time. As do all good things. Keep it up!
Best of luck! It takes a lot of effort undoubtedly. Can you share your marketing strategies ?
Sure Mahe. It currently revolves around writing content on social media, blog articles for SEO, and occasionally doing cold outreach
