Grew my Twitter From 400 to 500 in a day
Let me start with this... I suck at Twitter.
It took me 2 years to get to around a hundred followers. Granted I used it passively.
Started taking it a bit more seriously and managed to climb to 200. And then I started to really try to grow.
I got to 300 by tweeting a lot, trying different things, mostly failing, and occasionally having some small wins.
Yesterday, I finally hit 400 followers. I don't care about the numbers per se, but it is a useful proxy for me in the same way the scale is useful when you're trying to recomp your body.
Took me probably 2 months of work to go from 300 to 400. Now I’m almost at 500 one day later.
Pure serendipity.
I shared some research with a photo and snapshots of the paper.
Wrote some nice copy in a way that was easy to understand and share. Tagged Rory who shared it, and it blew up.
Also connecting with a bunch of IHers and engaging more w IH Twitter and Marketing Twitter.
Also remade the Twitter banner to make it easier to understand who my feed is/isn’t for and added a follow CTA.
One step at a time, we'll get there.

Are you automating your Twitter content creation?
In my opinion, it makes a huge difference to your Twitter content game.
People who automate their Twitter definitely have a distinct advantage over those who don't as they're hacking their Twitter growth -- it's not even the same sport.
I have users who reported amazing follower growth and engagement boosts the moment they started batch scheduling and auto-recycling their evergreen content, especially when they're still small like in the hundreds of followers.
Maybe it's something to consider!
