Grow your email list native via Twitter: Sync Revue (email marketing) to Encharge

I see more and more creators and indie hackers get the value of owning your own customer/lead data and understanding the value of having a newsletter.

And for good reason, email is the unsung hero of the marketing world.

If Google decides to do another core update again tomorrow and you lose all your rankings, can your customers still easily find you?

If Facebook or any other social platform decides to lower organic reach, even more, tomorrow, can you still reach your potential new customers?

That's why having your own email list is of such huge importance.

And growing your list should be on everyone's mind.

If you're active on Twitter there is an easy way to grow your list with their acquisition of Revue last year, as it allows you to have a native subscribe badge on your profile.

But what if you're already using another email service provider for sending out your emails?

Last year I bought myself access to Encharge via an AppSumo deal, so my email list is with Encharge. And potentially of some fellow indie hackers here as well.

If you're one of their users and still want to use the native integration of Twitter for growing your list, I've written a little script for you that you can run and sync your contacts from Revue to Encharge.

Here it is on Github: happy to hear your thoughts or any feedback you might have!

hey @gator70 what do you want to know exactly? Are you familiar with running a PHP script yourself? If so I think the readme file should be pretty helpful to get it up and running for you.

For this my newsletters I'm personally using Encharge after trying out some different solutions over the last couple of years.

          Subscribers are coming in using:

          • A newsletter subscribe on my websites using Gravity Forms and their webhook to send them to Encharge
          • a signup form as part of the onboarding process in my WordPress plugin (https://www.evergreencontentposter.io/)

Depending on which signup method they used they get into a specific flow in regards to a welcome email series.

But since a lot of Indiehackers and creators are using Twitter and Twitter has that native signup flow that makes it so easy for someone visiting your profile to signup for your newsletter and I wanted a way for me to use that functionality to easily grow my mailing list but still use the newsletter software that I was happily using.

I realized of course that a lot of people are using Mailchimp for their newsletter, so I'm currently rebuilding the script as well so people can have that same functionality even if they don't use Encharge, but if they use Mailchimp.

Which tool are you using for your newsletters at the moment?
