Growth Hack: This strategy exercise will help your project deliver value.

The single most helpful thing I have done for my project is create an actual strategy that I refer back to regularly.

After doing this exercise, I have begun to grow the value my project provides to customers.

Take 10 minutes and answer these four prompts:

  • Diagnosis: the single most important challenge faced by the company (whether immediate or strategic)

  • Beliefs: a short list of key assumptions that bridge from the diagnosis to the guiding policy.

  • Guiding policy: the overall approach to dealing with the challenge

  • Coherent actions: a set of actions designed to carry out the guiding policy

Share the name of your project and results from this exercise in the comments. I would love to see what conclusions you reach.

I hope this is helpful!

    Here is mine:
    Diagnosis
Oco is here to address a problem getting in the way of the climate change movement.
The problem: People don’t associate climate change with hope but disaster.

    Beliefs
    Oco has four core beliefs.
We can adapt to climate change.
Climate change is not your fault.
We are sitting on our laurels.
We can be the people who create a sustainable world for future generations.

    Guiding Policy
We want people to feel like they are part of the solution, not the problem.
Focus on our collective environmental impact, not the individual’s environmental impact.
Create space to show the large number of people who do care about our environment.
Share/reward the exceptional work of people already fighting climate change.
Reward people for taking a step to start fighting climate change.

    Impactful Actions
Create more rewards for Oco members for fighting climate change. Way more.
Create space for a community of people who want to fight climate change.
Continuously improve the experience people have with Oco.

Gotta say, that's one great diagnosis.
The people you are looking for is also very well defined!

I wonder now, how and where to find and identify them?

  2. 2

Diagnosis: distribute our methodology for Social Media growth.
Beliefs: the methodology works but requires effort. It is best suited for technical minded folks.
Guiding policies: we need to discover the people that could profit the most, reach out to them in a thoughtful manner. Mention why we think their product is great!
Coherent actions: spend 1 hour a day researching potential great projects. Research the background of the founders & contact 5 of the best we found. Search for "hidden gems" look in places where they launched unsuccessfully despite having valuable products. Even better find them when they haven't launched.
