We’re launching our first SaaS tool, here’s my growth game plan:
Phase 1
a) Soft launch MVP to 20-25 testers
b) Get feedback from testers (sit with them if poss) and prioritise
c) Implement priority feedback improvements
❇️ Greenlight benchmark: Get 5-10 people committed to paying for it (take a deposit) > move to Phase 2
Phase 2
a) Implement Phase 2 features + Phase 1 user feedback improvements
b) Public small launch to 20-25 testers
c) Gather feedback and prioritise issues
❇️ Greenlight benchmark: Further 5-10 people committed to paying for it (take a deposit) > move to Phase 3
Phase 3
a) Resolve prioritised issues with the development team
b) Wider public launch to 5,000+ to key audience segments within 9-12 weeks
c) Learn and gather intel about key audience segments
❇️ Greenlight benchmark: Acquire 100 customers and continue with the next phase
Setting and following a structured user validation path like this is crucial to ensuring we’re developing something users want and most importantly will pay for it. The plan will change as we learn.
