Guess the Conversion Rate % of my Unconventional Landing Page 😝

Hey expert/semi-pro marketers,

I'm new to landing pages/funnels and I NEED your guidance on this landing page I created that is probably considered unconventional... It's a premarketing campaign to get users like you signed up for a content marketing tool I have created.

Answer two questions for me;

  1. What do you reckon the conversion rate % is/should be?
  2. Any tips or things you would change?

Here's the link: https://spreadukapp.wixsite.com/spread

Feel free to sign up as well, it's all working...

Your page doesn't load properly for me in Chrome (80.0.3987.163) the "Hi,
I'm Chery" part is way over the right.

In answer to your questions I would guess the conversion rate is <1%

    1. 1

I've edited it, can you test again please? - That wasn't meant to be on there, whoops!

Thanks for your productive comment! :D

Ya know what? I love it.

You've got a distinct style that personally vibes with me (to clarify, I primarily do content marketing) because it feels like a parody of sales pages (think Cl/ickF/unnels), and I think you have a great shot at turning this into a brand notorious for its style.

Now, what you're going to need is an audience of Millennials and Gen Z-ers who respond well to meme humor. Plus, what with the climate in the world, I think brands with a good sense of humor like yours will do well.

Great job for offering TikTok repurposing! πŸ™Œ

Someone probably said this already, but I'd love to see interactive examples of your repurposing tool in action.

Because I'm a sucker for failsafes, I'd create a more conventional landing page and A/B test it (just in case). But I'm betting that, with a good promo campaign and brand awareness, the one you just posted will do a lot better in the long term.

My suggestion is also modifying the "Spread is ideal for content creators who..." to avoid saying things like "...don't use TikTok" and rephrase it as "... who want to use TikTok."
In the beginning, your formulation really threw me for a loop; I thought you didn't service TikTok (my bad for skimming, but still).

And finally, you could use that chatbot to display an engaging message in tune with your brand, instead of just having it chill on the sidelines. Something like: "What channel do you want to start using?" or something that works with your brand voice.

Love this so much, and can't wait to see more examples! πŸ‘

      WOW... Thank YOU Lana.

You have really made my Friday - I love IH'ers like you.

Really appreciate the love you have for this style, I'm trying to make Spread a brand more than anything. I know content marking is most suited to marketers aged 20-30 and so I thought meme's, gif's and such would be a perfect fit

I know - I NEED interactive examples of this, sadly I have no idea how to make any as the actual platform isn't even built yet :(

Going to look into way off creating examples/case studies, probably in video format...

I've never really made a landing page before, so I've only made the one for now but I will be A/B testing ASAP - and will definitely make it look way more professional

I knew "...don't use TikTok" didn't sound right ahaha, now you've made it very clear for me, thank you. I'm going to change that and a few others things today

the chat bot idea is something I never even considered but it really great, thank you

Will keep you updated with all of my marketing madness

      1. 2

Glad I made your Friday, and I hope you have a great weekend too!

As for the case studies, since the platform is not built, you could create the repurposed versions manually, like you state on the landing page:

        1. Start with a video - show what it would look like turned into: a blog post, a podcast segment, clips for IG.

        2. Start with a blog post - then show what it would look like turned into: a Medium article, Twitter thread, and SM captions.

The easiest way is to just use the free platforms already available, do it yourself, and then embed things like podcasts into your landing page, and take screenshots. This should do for the time being. :D

I also just checked your landing page - great job with rephrasing the "Ideal for content creators..." section! It's much clearer now.

I followed Spread on Twitter, signed up for the mailing list, and excited to see where you take it! Definitely love the marketing madness - it's a breath of fresh air. :')

        1. 1

Hey Lana, sorry for the slow reply. BEEN SO BUSY!!!!

I'm going to take you up on your suggestions 100%

Thank you for your appreciation for my marketing and Spread as a product. It means so much to me you can't even understand.

          Thank you very much!!!

  3. 2

It has a feel of those close orientated/limited offer right now/pushy sales sites (which might be good because they might work on some people) which I usually don't bother reading because I know I can get it for free/cheaper elsewhere and that its not really limited time/the stated value.

I like the wildfire icons and words, its exciting and relevant. Stating 999.99% is bad, it's basically a round number, you should get a real example of who your product helped and have realistic and specifically calculated figures which should not be round.

The main thing it I need to be able to see the terms and conditions before signing up (Chrome, Ubuntu). Also the arrow from social from media to Youtube sort of suggests you can make Youtube videos. Isn't Sunday 26th April?

For me you need to have a brand or say who you are/be an entity or person for me to be able trust you.

    1. 1

Thank you so much for your input!

The 999.99% is used as the product is still being built so exact figures can't be obtained right now

But the process we have built for users should increase content output by a minimum of 13 pieces for every one inputted, so the number really should be 130% but I thought 999.99% would grab peoples attention and make them read on

I'll try to add more brand logos and such to increase the trust value

it is a very salesy page but idc as long as its converting tbh, sounds bad right? ahahah

    Hey Louis!

I'm a product designer in NYC. Happy to share my 2-cents! :)

    --

I actually like the tongue-in-cheek approach you have going here. You may want to tone it down just a bit though.

I think the joke will have appeal, and get people to scroll, but it's not immediately clear what you do.

Then again, maybe most of this would be clear to me if I weren't a total n00b when it comes to content marketing!

    ---

Yes, this is cool: "YouTube videos into podcasts, podcasts into blogs, blogs into social media posts"

Problem is I didn't even understand that this is what the product does until I read this. I would turn this into your main header, or sub-header. That way you ground the user in a base level understanding of what you do.

    Hope this helps!

Keep up the good work, and stay safe!
    Jack

    ----

All of this should be condensed into one line IMHO. You're repeating yourself and wasting a lot of valuable space... not to mention testing the users patience.

    (FOR SERIOUS CONTENT MARKETERS ONLY)

DON'T SCROLL DOWN UNLESS YOU ARE:

A semi-pro content marketer with an existing content strategy and are experienced with either blogging, youtube or social media.

This is not a tool highly recommenced for newbies.

    ----

Also you page continues to scroll waaaay page the form. ;)

    1. 1

Bro you have given me so much to work with here it's great!

Thank you so much for your opinion, I have now changed it all and added what you said and took out what you also mentioned.

That n00b comment killed me off man ahahah

and thank you for admiring the warning thing, knew a product guy like you would seethe value in that to grab peoples attention

I've re-edited It - it would mean the world to me if you could take a quick look again please mate, just give me a yay or nay! hahaha

      You're a top lad Jack

      Cheers mate

      1. 2

        Hey bud,

        Looking good!

This opening line still feels a bit confusing IMHO though:

"THE SIMPLE TOOL THAT WILL 100X YOUR CONTENT"

What's that mean "100x" your content? Get 100X the Views ? Likes? Comments?

Again, not a content marketer, so maybe I'm missing the mark. But it feels too vague.

Also I'd drop the "simple tool". Note that all simple tools are simple, and don't need to tell you they're simple. :)

I would flip the secondary lines:

        Lead with this one:

"We repurpose Your YouTube videos into podcasts, podcasts into blogs, and blogs into social media posts"

Is this process automated? If so I'd include "we automatically turn your YouTube videos into podcasts..."

        Followed by the cheeky comment

πŸ‘‡πŸ»THE CONTENT REPURPOSING TOOL YOU ALWAYS KNEW YOU NEEDEDπŸ‘‡πŸ»

You can think of the first line as the "what", and the second line as the "how". If you can communicate this quickly / clearly, and the user's interested in what you're selling, they'll keep reading.

        Hope this is somewhat helpful!

        Best,
        J

        P.S.
Wondering if you could offer some feedback too! (Totally cool if you don't want to)

I think our site has some issues. I still need to add in more assets that show how the product works.

Two questions for the current site:

        • Is it clear what the product is for?
        • Does the site make you want to use the product?

(I'd prefer honesty over kindness here)

        http://magicmorning.co/

        1. 1

          Yoo Bud,

          Thanks for the feedback here!

"First line is the "what" but maybe a second line detailing the "how" should be added too?"

Haha, yeah so after I started giving feedback I really started to reflect on my own stuff. I'm going to start implementing my own advice πŸ˜‚

I've also started to hit on some other key insights.

If you look at most successful companies they lean into their 2-4 key value props, and just keep reiterating these things over and over.

For instance, consider allbirds.com (billion dollar shoe start up)

          Their key value props are:

          • The world’s most comfortable shoes
          • Made with sustainable, natural materials.

If you look at every touch point of the company (site / social media / ads / packaging, etc), they emphasize / re-emphasize their key value props over and over.

Really good brands make it clear what they are, how they do it, and why you should care.

To your point, we're currently explaining the "what", but not the "how" or "why".

Another way to approach it, is to consider your companies "Golden Circle"

          https://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action?language=en

          New Question:

If you read this, does it paint a clear picture of what Magic is, and why you should care?

          Our "Why"

          • We want to help people become their best selves.

          Our "How"

          • We curate the best industry content (guided meditations, workouts, recipes), to make it easy to learn and practice good habits.
          • We package all of this content into a personalized morning routine app.
          • The app is beautiful, intuitive, and easy to use.

          Our "What"

          • We make a morning routine app called Magic.

          -----

Ugh, yes we're lacking on the social front for sure. That stuff is a total mystery. I'll definitely start actioning that feedback (thanks for that). Let me know if you have any other suggestion there, or with any other marketing stuff.

Thanks again dude. Let's keep in touch as things progress!

        2. 1

Again mate you've made some AMAZING comments, you have really helped me.

Thank you again, and of course I'd be moreeeeee than happy to have a look at Magic...

Here's a few things from taking a look at the landing page:

          1. The site took a while to load, this may be due to my internet but I'd have a look at your loading speed on SEO tools if you can

          2. "Your new morning routine" is really nice, straight to the point. Love it. Like you said though, that first line is the "what" but maybe a second line detailing the "how" should be added too?

          3. LOVE the sliding design on the apps, and the contrast in colours.

          4. I think all the quotes like "get your blood flowing" are all great to motivate people, but I don't actually know how you're going to help me do this. Are you offering morning workout routine, entire guideline routine for mornings, guided experiences, AI tracked morning routine etc... I know lower down you have the 6 different sections which isn't finished yet but something higher up explaining what you actually physically do might help some users.

          5. The generic quotes are really motivating but sometimes figures, detail and personal experiences can convert better. Say how you increased your blog productivity by 49%, explain how this routine meant you never woke up with anxiety, show your story and what made you develop this app, how It changed your life for the better - and there's too.

          6. Also had a look at your IG, very nice aesthetics but the captions and engagement with users need a lot of work (as your may already know). Also change your name from Magic to "Morning Routine Optimiser" or something along those lines. People aren't searching for Magic, they're searching for morning routine guides etc.

So to answer your two questions:

          1. I completely understand your product is for morning routine optimisation, but I don't understand how it will physically work to help me. My best guess right now is sort of like a guide?

          2. With more facts, figures and detail I think you're on to a winning product. I want to hear the real benefits of it. How exactly it will change my life, where it will improve my daily habits, what aspects of my work will I see a difference etcccc.....

          Hope this helps jack, cheers

*It won't let me put spaces between it for some reason??? sorry for the blob of text!!!

          1. 1

Also I've taken what you said again, and re published the landing page (5th times a charm ayyy)

            thank you again

            1. 1

              Yooo,

Ok don't hate me, but I still think that opening line can be improved. 😡

This is still your strongest line, IMHO:

"Repurpose Your YouTube videos into podcasts,
podcasts into blogs, and blogs into social media posts"

Honestly I think you could make this the header text and call it a day. But if you still want a header, I'd lean into something punchy, like:

"Give your marketing content a boost"

              or

"Get more from your marketing content"

              or

              "Push your marketing content further"

              Followed by:
"Repurpose Your YouTube videos into podcasts,
podcasts into blogs, and blogs into social media posts"

Kind of like what Quibi is doing here:
              https://quibi.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIg5LJmMiB6QIViYCfCh30jwGaEAAYASAAEgJr6vD_BwE

I have an urge to use the proverbial "We" as well, but you may want to move away from that. Just makes your company sound a bit small. (That's my own personal take on it though).

Thanks again for the previous feedback!

              -J

              1. 1

I HATE YOU!!!!! Jokes mate I really appreciate that extra feedback again - you're too good to me

Unfortunately we're going to have to agree to disagree, I like the title right now as it is, but if the conversion rate goes down then I'll change it asap

I'm hitting 12% conversion rate on the page right now, do you think that's a good rate?

                1. 1

                  haha, fair enough. :)

I think it depends on how what you're converting. Is this 12% of people that are coming to your site are becoming customer? Are they requesting more info?

                  1. 1

They're pre signing up so they get it upon release, so in the middle really

not customers but great BETA testers for feedback who can also help us grow via their word of mouth

                    1. 1

                      Hey there,

Just wondering if you could take a look at our new site, and give your opinion (Desktop only right now)

                      http://magicmorning.co/

                      2 Questions:
                      - Is it clear?
                      - Do you want to try the product?
                      - If not, what's the reasoning?

                      Thanks!

    Hello Louis!
Here are my notes, I made a video highlighting the different things I believe you can improve.

    https://www.loom.com/share/ed1b0f28e93840c8b7c595dbf017da91

This is one of my firsts videos giving feedback on landing pages, so any feedback you may ahve will be much appreciated!

Feel free to contact me on LinkedIn.

    All the best,

    Sebastian

    1. 1

      Sebastian,

Thank you so much for your video, means the world you took the time to do that for me!

Everything you said is bang on, and I am working on changing everything as we speak!

Something I didn't realise is that I didn't mention the actual software is still being built (by a half arse freelancer 😭)... That's why I didn't have a pricing plan, or exact layout of how it would work, but as soon as I can I will add it in.

To be fair that page is just going to be used for some premarketing, when the product is working I will create a real website landing page and have everything much more professional.

Care to speak more over email or messenger?

      Thank you gain.

      1. 2

        Hi there!

Thank you very much for your comments.

I have just sent you an email.

        Best,

        Sebastian
