Guys, I (accidentally) launched my SaaS on Product Hunt!? 🎉 🫥

I’ll give you the story of how I f***ed up my first PH launch. In exchange, will you share one of your whoopsies? I'm sure we can use some honest mistake stories in a feed full of victories.

Alright here’s the story:

So we were scheduled to launch on PH on Tuesday last week. Spent a full day preparing the docs related to the launch when i got a reply from a top Hunter saying that he’ll be happy to hunt us.

So I accepted this offer and delayed the launch to this week.

But after discussing it with him, I realised that we won’t be able to launch it this week either. So i told all the friends who were supporting us that we’re delaying another week now.

And as you might have guessed it - in doing so, I conveniently forgot to reschedule the launch in PH. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I only discovered the accidental launch when i opened my email a few hours ago and started seeing a flood of spam cold emails from people who could help me boost my launch.

“What launch?”

“Ooh crap!”

That’s the story folks.

• Does PH not have an “unpublish” or “delete” button? Nope! (Been looking for it for the last hour)

• Do I think PH could improve their email communication to send reminders about upcoming launches to makers? Ofcourse!

• Do I know it in my heart that it’s ultimately my fault? Totally!

• Am i so confident in the product we’re building that i know we’ll reach users soon enough? You bet!🔥

• Am I still going to tell my friends that a big PH hunter agreed to hunt us? Why not!

I was in a state of panic for the first hour after which I started seeing the humour in this. So it’s okay if you laugh too. :)
