Gym comparision service
Hi. I'd like to hear what you think about a service where you could search for the best gyms
matching your requirements around you, with well organized information about them like: opening hours, price list, available equipment, info about lessons with qualified people, reviews from other users, pictures and much more?
I don't see too much competition in this niche, i'd start locally and grew from one city to the next one with this web app.
I can think about many development opportunities for this idea like: ordering gym tickets through my service, oferring unique discounts by gym owners.
are folks going to gyms right now?
Obviously, this is something that's dependent on travel restrictions, but I'd think there's more demand for travellers coming into an area and wanting to know about gyms to work out in during their visit than for local people (who can do the research and ask around to find a nearby gym they like). Eg my husband used to do a lot of work travel and is a serious weightlifter - if he was able to look up which gyms had lots of squat racks etc that would be a useful service for him. For that to work you'd need pretty good nationwide (or even worldwide) coverage though. And people have to be able to get to gyms and other cities!
When you search for gyms in your area on google, won't it give you similar info?
The USP of unique discounts could make it a real killer though...
I pick my gym based on distance... if I have to drive further than 5 minutes then I am not going to work out.
