WHY don't just hit connect? Let me explain:

Among the 5,042 connections on my LinkedIn, I have communicated with at least 70% of them or met physically. Most of them belong to my industry, namely venture capital, startup, innovation, and side hustler. The rest of them are my former colleagues, classmates, and family. Therefore, I am happy to keep them on my list.

The number of followers shows the impression of vanity that someone is popular. It's different on LinkedIn, you need to be careful in terms of making a new connection. I've tried my very best to maintain 1) related connections; 2) similar backgrounds/ career path; 3) my connections are active.

Don't pursue quantity! Try to build positive and relevant connections. Unlike other social media platforms, personalized connections on LinkedIn allow you to open the first door and show your professionalism. Yes - it's not a one-click work, but you will see the impact gradually.

I don't make a wild connection because I need to add up numbers. I make a connection because there's a need or fit. I have been doing this for years, and it directly affects the performance of my post, network expansion, and real business relationship.
