Hallway - Making WFH less lonely

Hi everyone! My roommate started working from home and was complaining about how he doesn't really talk to anyone anymore and felt like he would go crazy. Given that this is the new normal for a while and we already build Slack bots at our company, Across, we decided to hack together a side project to make WFH less forlorn

We made https://hallway.chat - a Slack bot that prompts you to take a break and join a short 10 min video chat with your co-workers throughout the work day. Just add the bot to a channel, set the frequency and timezone, and it'll ping the channel with a link. It's a fun and simple way to simulate "watercooler" conversations when you just bump into a friend at work

You can use your own Zoom/Hangouts Meet links for free, but if you don't, we'll generate one for you (that's timed!). It costs us to host video chat rooms so we do have a paid plan, but if we do make any profits in the next few weeks, we'll donate it to fight COVID-19
