Yes, I did when I built my 7-figure ARR business (now sold).
It works so well, that I'm currently building an AI to help others find opportunities in reviews (be it for their own product or potential competitors).
Look for passionate language and feedback in 1 and 5 star reviews at first. Document themes across both positive and negative reviews as well to determine what the market cares about.
I wrote an article with some examples of how you can do it manually.
Very cool product! I’m currently also using AI to analyse reviews, but especially to create marketing content with it.

I haven't done this specific method myself with an entire product. But it is helpful in making sure your product doesn't make the same mistake.
My current product was because I overheard a discussion of a problem with no solution.
In making this I have wanted to integrate with a system to help sales, all the existing options are really expensive and I don't think they need to be that expensive. So I think there is another product I could develop there.
I see, reviews can definitely be a good way to figure out what people like and dislike.

In addition to finding problems, I've also used reviews to help in positioning and messaging of the product.
Yes, I'm actually doing this now, though I don't have results to share how it did as it's not released yet! But I'm confident in the product.
I've been using some software I built for myself and a friend for around 7 years. My friend randomly suggested that he thought other people would use it and to make it public.
Not convinced myself, I read reviews of mainly indirect competitors and there are gaps and/or problems and from what I can see only one direct competitor with less functionality. So I'm building enhancements to my product for public release with these problems addressed, along with a my nicer UI.
Yes. When I was creating my WordPress plugin ( https://www.indiehackers.com/product/advanced-woo-labels ) I read reviews for plugins with similar functionality.
First of all, I paid attention to the bad reviews - what users lack in these plugins, what features they want to see.
I made a list of such wishes and on the basis of that I thought up a list of features that should be in my plugin.

Well no so long. There were only a few competitive plugins in the same field - some maybe one day to read all reviews and set some list of features. Of course, some new features ideas came to me later - during development and later after I published the plugin - from first customers.
We actually used reviews a lot in our work. We rebuilt our website based on customer experience and reviews. I think it's a general practice to build your UI/UX back-to-back with your customer.
Working with compliance is also a general part of creating more revenue and building trust in you. Forums and market afraid are great fields to find the problems you should work on.
