Has anyone had trouble obtaining a credit card?
Hey everyone!
I was wondering if anyone had a hard time being approved for a credit card? I was working as software engineer making 100k+/year in the bay area but couldnt be approved for a credit card due to my lack of American credit history (I'm Canadian).
I'm currently working on a product to solve this problem and help people both obtain credit cards and effectively build their credit.

I can't remember if privacy.com ran a credit check. But I have it setup with a debit card and create virtual credit card numbers from that.
Amex at least used to allow you to transfer your card to a different country. So I applied for an amex in my home country, kept it open for their minimum period (a month or something like that) and then called customer service to transfer it to the US. I probably had to go through a few layers of customer service. That was a great way to jump start my credit history.
Would you consider to get a card from challenger bank or virtual bank like Revolut, Brex, Neat?
As far as im aware, Revolut only offers checking and debit cards, and brex and neat are for enterprise customers?
I was specifically looking for a credit so I could start building credit history here!
