We were recently accepted to launch our product on AppSumo and went through the full preparation process, including copy, QA, license integration, and more.
But after reading the full partner agreement, we hit a few terms that felt pretty heavy, especially the IP lien, 3x clawback clause, and forced arbitration. We asked to negotiate a few of them, but didn’t get any movement, so we decided to walk.
I know a lot of founders have had great success with AppSumo, so I’m curious:
If you’ve launched there - what was the experience like for you?
Did you feel the terms were fair? Did anything catch you off guard post-launch?
Would you do it again?
Would love to hear honest takes, good or bad.
