Hate to break it to you but if you're expecting to rank then 2-3 sentences most definitely will not cut it.
The web is oversaturated with content and search engines aim to return the highest quality and most authoritative content on the first few pages, that means content that is comprehensive, in depth, and valuable.
Modifying a few sentences simply is not enough any more when it comes to improving content and getting it to rank. What you ought to do is study the top ranking content for your target keywords for each page and look at how they structure their content, the depth they go to, and the supporting materials they use.
