Have you decreased your use of Twitter since Elon Musk got control over it?

Hey mates,

I'm wondering, have you decreased your use of Twitter since Elon Musk got control over it? I'm sure some people have, yet I have a feeling that the impact is much smaller than the news outlets are writing about it.

If you have, have you moved to Mastodon or something else?

Ideological reasons? Lot's of people don't approve his doings. e.g. supporting the Russian narrative, supporting Trump (through the veil of "free speech" which is more like allowing misinformation), his approach to working with people like a despot, etc etc.

One political elite just got the opportunity to control a major media outlet, which did not please the other political elite. This is the real reason. Everything else is just digital noise.

It used to be owned by shareholders. Now it’s owned outright by a childish, egotistical billionaire. Politics aside.

Yeh, politically neutral shareholders (Vanguard, Blackrock, MS). They are not like Musk.

Actually, I recently recreated my Twitter account after a 10-year hiatus (had a couple of thousands of followers back then). So, I'm just getting started!

    Nope and nope.

I wish there was less chat about it. Give him a few months and see what happens.

(I guess this comment is chatting about it)

I deleted it. I hate bad bosses more than I love Twitter, and I love Twitter quite a lot. I hope he fails and something else comes along that’s better. I’ve turned my attention to smaller communities on Mastodon, Substack, Slack, and Discord and my mental health is better for it.

I decreased my use only because I am on a few other networks. Including here just today. I have been a lurker for awhile and finally made an account.

I joined a few things Matrix and joined a Mastodon server. I won't give up on Twitter. It didn't die because a few people left. And I suspect they didn't really leave. Just made a lot of noise for the social credit. They will all be back.
