Have you ever published anything? Lessons from a small time 'creator'. Part I: On screaming into darkness.

Does that actually work? (he wondered, wonderingly)
Publish a mostly substance-free article, with a cliff-hanger ending (of sorts) - then promise to deliver 'more' if you sign up for it?
Maybe, if you 'delivered' something of value in part 1 there might be enough of an incentive for someone to give you their (even if it is a throwaway) email address - but if there was something of that sort that you delivered in part 1, I must have missed it (sorry!)...
The initial 'tease' was sufficient to get me to click through to part 1, but you lost me there.
A bit harsh? Yeah, but that was my experience. Maybe others were OK with it...
(At least it made enough of a non-impression on me to draw me back here to key in some comments. That must be worth something, huh...)
Here is the 2nd part, as promised below .... https://eightyfour.substack.com/p/ok-but-do-you-spam-enough?s=w
Thanks for the update - part 2 is at least somewhat relevant to me, as I am considering starting a blog (or 2).
But I guess that I'm not a big fan of 'stay tuned for the next exciting installment'... I have a limited enough attention span as it is, and so I'm more likely than not to throw in the towel at this point.
Sure. I just did not wanna do an extremely long post.
As for a blog, totally can recommend! And good luck!
Thanks Radiator. It was intended more like a series, not so much to gather subs... but it is an extremely good point, did not really think about it when writing.
And it was not too harsh, it was valuable feedback! I will make sure to send you the part II which I intend to publish today. :)
