Have you guys already built a Twitter bot?

HI guys,

I'm thinking about creating a Twitter bot to improve our workflow at feedier.com and add some automation.

What's your thoughts? Any comment or suggestion?

Thanks!

Make sure your read Twitter's terms of service really carefully. In the past, people made bots to reply to a mention of certain keywords but at some point, I think, that became forbidden. If someone @ messages or DMs to you I think you can reply to them. It's best to find out what is explicitly allowed before invisting any time or money in the project.

Yes, I built a twitter bot that measures sentiment on twitter and decides if the cryptocurrency market is bullish or bearish (https://twitter.com/BullBearBot). It was built for someone else as freelance work. I thought about automating the process so anyone can launch theirs but I didn't pursue it any longer. What do you have in mind?

I am using microsoft flow (https://flow.microsoft.com/) to do some light twitter automation. Can set up triggers for twitter events or hook it up to a web request.

I’ve built a few for fun just to learn and understand the process a little better.

For example, most recently I built a little clone of the africa by toto bot just because it seemed like a funny idea (original: https://twitter.com/africabytotobot) (my clone: https://twitter.com/toto_bot_clone).

If you’re looking for info on getting started building something, I wrote out pretty much the step by step process for how I built and deployed that in ruby: https://zayne.io/blog/ruby-on-rails-build-a-twitter-bot-in-less-than-20-minutes

I would love to hear more from ppl here who are building twitter bots that automate more sophisticated interactions like responding to customer support inquiries for example.

      Thanks for that! :)

I've been doing plenty of stuff with Twitter bots. Would love to know what you're trying to automate

Thinking about replying to followers, and also likely like/retweet specific tweets (based on topics for instance).
I know there are some tutorials out there, but I guess it' sbetter to listen from experience! :)

    Salut Baptiste,

What would you automate? What's your goal?

    off topic:
Can you tell me more about how it can be integrate into my SaaS solution to get feedbacks ? I am CEO of https://mysocialapp.io

Hey , thanks for your interest!
Would you like to integrate with the web app?

When exactly would you like to request feedback? We have a few channels you can use : email, sms, widget, and the API! So you can basically request feedback and then the link to the few feedback questions whenever you want! :)
