Hi everyone,
Have you ever paid for market research or user research? If yes, how much did you pay and for what type of research? If not, how is doing your own user/market research working out for you?
Would really appreciate some insights!
Thanks much!
yes it depends on the product, business model B2B, B2C and the competitor research. If you know about the product your working and the idea you have you can do it by your self but at some point you need the help of an expert a digital marketing expert who gives you the stats of your competitor which will help you in your business planning and the working.
The best place for this is the upwork and fiverr where you can find a people who will audit, market information about your competitor.
Thanks @buckyjames! How much does a decent upwork or fiverr person charge for market research? And how long do they take?
Normally that cost average price of $205-$1000 depending on the project nature you can contact the people on upwork and fiverr for your project.
Time: Roughly 3 days - 1 week
Hi Shagun! Yes, I did pay for Google Surveys and that was about $300-500. Not more. Beyond that, I have done all the research on my own via customer interviews.
What kind of research or research products are you interested in?
Thanks @SnehaSaigal
I am trying to understand how much people pay for market research.
We did our own for a FinTech startup. $10-50 per interview. Some were free because the person just wanted a space to talk/rant.
We also used marketplaces to find people.
Both methods worked well. I like marketplaces for speed.
For contextual questions, I find that once you speak to 5-10 people you don't find any new insights.
@byhazellim when you say marketplaces, does that mean upwork and fiverr? How much do those charge and how long do they take to get a report ready? Also I am guessing these services work best for market research and not user research?
No I meant marketplaces made specifically for interviews. We used Respondent for example. We set our requirements and they find people for us.
Yes, market research.
