Have you sold a written course (non-video)?
I have an idea for a course but to validate it I am only planning to have written content since I don't have the time to record and videos right now. I absolutely don't mind putting in the time for videos but preferably want to do it at a later stage. Can you please share your experience? What's your strategy to validate your course idea?
I’ve sold a few video courses but most of my courses are now text-based, and I’m experimenting with audio + text. I use Podia for course delivery and I think it lends itself well to text!
My experience as a course user was that I was skipping through videos, a lot. Video courses felt to me like they had a lot of fluff in them. So I made a course I would want to learn from.
I think an obstacle for me has been demonstrating value without video. Video courses are perceived as more valuable, so you’re fighting against that perception.
Do you have an email list you’re building to promote? I’d recommend starting that now. People who are used to receiving valuable writing from you will be more predisposed to buying valuable writing in course form.
Thanks for sharing this info. I recently started a blog with an aim to build some credibility. I haven't launched it, nor have I submitted for it to be indexed. The reason being I don't have enough content yet. I need to make some design changes I have in mind to possibly capture more emails. Haven't ever done this before, not sure what will work!

Currently learning react.js from udemy and I exhausted of the amount of videos i have watched already in the course. I would love an hybrid course where I can just read sometimes because is much easier to find what are you are looking.
Try at least to makes the first or more complicated topics a video but not everything should be video in my opinion.
This is good advice @rllola. And the exact same reason I am planning to have written content. So that it is easy for learners to come back and quickly refer to content. I am a bit worried about content being plagiarized when its only written. But based of your suggestion i feel hybrid content would help with this case. Thanks!
Sounds good, also written content makes you easier to update and find what’s selling right now. Once you have something that works you can transform into video
