He Made $65,000 in Just 48 Hours |Nico Jeannen’s Story

Hello, I’m David Kim.

I’m planning to create a series of videos discussing renowned indie hackers, their stories, and growth trajectories. Welcome to and subscribe my YouTube channel and Podcast “AI Watcher by DK”.

We’ll deconstruct their cases and learn from both their successes and failures.

I’m on my indie hacker journey under an anonymous identity, aiming to share my progress from 0 to $100k MRR. Feel free to follow me on Twitter.

Today, I’d like to share the remarkable story of Nico Jeannen, an independent developer who has achieved extraordinary success in a short span of time. His journey from struggling student to thriving entrepreneur is filled with valuable lessons and inspiring milestones.

Destined to Be an Entrepreneur
As a French post-90s generation individual, Nico’s academic journey was far from smooth.

During his school years, he was considered a poor student, nearly placed in a class for children with learning disabilities. His lack of interest in studies continued through high school, leading him to start working at a bank after graduation in 2016.

However, Nico’s brief stint at the bank proved to be a turning point. After just three days of monotonous work as a “scanner boy,” he quit and vowed never to work for anyone else again.

This decision marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 19.

The Rocky Road to Success
Determined to make it on his own, Nico began reaching out to French entrepreneurs and searching for startup advice online.

He even founded a college startup club, hoping to meet successful millionaires who could share their secrets. Instead, he found himself among fellow aspiring entrepreneurs with unconventional ideas.

Nico’s path was not easy. Over the next five years, he launched about 35 projects, none of which were successful. Despite these setbacks, he persevered, continuously learning and adapting his approach.

The 48-Hour Challenge: MakeLogo.ai
In late 2022, Nico decided to take on a bold challenge. He announced on Twitter that he would turn his idea into a product within 48 hours.

Despite having fewer than 600 followers at the time, he managed to create MakeLogo.ai, an AI-powered logo generation tool.

The initial version was basic, requiring manual logo generation and email delivery to customers. Nevertheless, it quickly proved to be in demand. The product’s launch on Product Hunt was successful, ultimately generating over $15,000 in pure profit.

Selling Success and Financial Freedom
Recognizing his limitations in logo design and lacking the technical skills to improve the product, Nico decided to sell MakeLogo.ai in February 2023.

He listed it on acquire.com and received numerous offers, eventually selling it for $65,000. Combined with the $20,000 he had already earned from the product, his total earnings reached $85,000 — enough to cover his living expenses for the next five years.

Continued Innovation: TalkNotes
Nico’s entrepreneurial journey didn’t stop there. He went on to create TalkNotes, a speech recognition application that converts spoken words into well-structured, neatly formatted notes using AI.

This product also topped Product Hunt’s daily rankings upon launch and was later sold for an impressive $200,000.

Building in Public
Throughout his journey, Nico has been committed to building in public, sharing his experiences and insights with his growing Twitter following, which now exceeds 38,000.

His transparency and willingness to share both successes and failures have contributed to his popularity among fellow indie developers.

Key Takeaways

  1. Persistence pays off: Despite numerous failures, Nico continued to create and innovate.
  2. Know when to sell: Nico’s ability to recognize when to sell his products has led to significant financial gains.
  3. Rapid experimentation: His approach of quickly trying new ideas and failing fast has been crucial to his success.
  4. Diversify your skills: Nico’s video-making abilities and marketing talent have played a significant role in his success.
  5. Build in public: Sharing his journey has helped Nico build a strong following and network within the indie developer community.

Conclusion
Nico Jeannen’s story serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs and indie developers.

It demonstrates that with persistence, adaptability, and a willingness to learn from failures, it’s possible to achieve significant success in the world of independent product development.

Thank you for sharing this inspiring story! It reminds me of the story of SEO AI, which also uses artificial intelligence to help entrepreneurs and businesses improve their online presence. SEO AI is an advanced tool designed to optimize website keyword placement and content quality, boosting search engine rankings. Similar to Nico’s AI innovation, SEO AI helps users streamline their processes, save time, and achieve rapid growth.
